Those conversations really added value because I feel like I not only built the skills I came to the course for, but that I also learned a lot about freediving culture and gear!ĭefinitely plan to come back and do the advanced course with him. What I loved most is that throughout the whole two days, he would share more info and knowledge about freediving beyond just what the course requires - from his favorite locations to dive, to gear and technique, to any other question I thought of- during our lunch breaks and as we prepared for the dives. Michael‘s teaching style was great because he explains the “why” behind techniques before he demos them, and really focuses on making sure you build good habits and form from the get-go. ![]() ![]() Did my SSI level 1 freediving certification with Michael on a trip to San Diego and can’t recommend him enough! He perfectly balanced safety and fun throughout the class, and helps you push your limits in a smart and controlled way.Īs a visual & analytical learner, I really value learning the “why” behind rules or practices as opposed to just being told to do something.
